Any tips for recording hip hop vox?

I got Event Tr-8s I ve been also tryint to durn down instruments realizing that with subs goin on a lot of songs the mids are as strong yet when i play it in the house they re east to hear so Im cutting down on the volume of some midrange sytnhs but on reverb I cant seem to find a setting that is just like a room type reverb where yo u cant hear the verb until like the last word of what someone says....u know what i mean by that like it doesnt sound verby until the last word is said then you can hear it tail off if anyone has a nice setting hook me i been tryin em all and they just are too much....thanks
 
compress compress compress.....to get the vocal to stick out more...don't be scared....expriment...crush the vocal see how it sounds on other systems etc...
