Not sure if you actually get Tape Op magazine or if you're just making an assumption....since it is considered by many to be one of the best audio trade publications out today in the US, and has the most real, down to earth articles and interviews of any of the other ones.
I pretty much toss out all the other ones I get monthly after flipping through them, but I keep my copies of Tape Op.
AFA the advertising....they all have ads, that's how they pay to print the publications and give out free subscriptions...but Tape Op has a quite a lot of good stuff in-between the ads.
