any thoughts on these drum mics?

I haven't used those precific mics, but Nady makes some extremely high quality (for the price) microphones. I forget witch model it was but we did a blind comparison between a $60 nady LDC and a KSM-44 and really the difference was negligable in our opinion.
 
No experience with those particular mics. The Nady mics I have had my hands on (dynamic vocal mics) I thought were cheesy. Wish I could be more helpful.
 
My friend has that package and he has been very dissapointed with them. I have also used them and it seems that the kick mic distorts when used for the purpose it is intended. The bass drum. Know, we are not clipping or nothing, it just does not handle low frequencies very well. I have not used the other mics much and have not heard his opinions about them but I just know that overall he is not pleased with them. Anyway just opinions, Matt

Yeah, Gidge is right on. That's the same setup I use, with the exception of the higher-priced ATM25 instead of the Pro 25. I went through all kinds of budget drum mic packages, CAD, etc., but, forget it, they're all basically junk (broad, sweeping statement, but I stand by it)...

You can pick up used 57's for $50 each if you look around ("Music Go Round," etc.), pair of 603's for $125-ish, I grabbed a used ATM25 for $80 on ebay... I've got maybe $300ish in drum mics, and even though that's double the cost of the CAD or Nady packages - they're worth WAY more than double the price, in quality. I'd say don't fool around with them, just start grabbing up 57's. Who couldn't get by on a few 57's and a decent pair of condensors?

For the record, I use a pair of MXL V63's for room mics, to complete my budget setup. Works out great, considering I'm not really recording in great-sounding rooms to begin with.
 
Some of the best snare sounds I have heard thus far have been with a beta 57. I recently aquired a Sennhieser MD441U that I am looking forward to using on snare.

I agree totally with Gidge. The only change I would make would be micing the toms. The Pro 25 is for bass drum and 57 for snare. If you wanted to mic toms, for rack there is the RadioShack 33-3032's or Sennhieser E604. And for floor tom there is the Pro 25 or a Sennhieser MD421II. Overheads could be MXL 603 or Behringer ECM8000

Expensive Setup would be:
Kick = D112 or ATM25
Snare = Beta 57 or MD441U
Rack Toms = 2 E604's
Floor Tom = 421 or Pro25
Overhead = 2 MXL 603

Inexpensive Setup would be:
Kick = Pro25
Snare = SM57
Rack Toms = 2 33-3032
Floor = Pro25
Overhead = ECM8000's

Has anyone noticed the deal on ATPro25's at Musicians Friend?
69.99 for a bulkpack ATPro25 and a LP Mic Claw. I picked up 3. what a good deal. It has been going on for a while, but I have just finally gotten the money for it.

I have the Nady drum mic package and while the mics are usable you would be better off following Gidges and everyone elses advice in my opinion.I like the bass and tom mics but I use an AKG 880 on snare and a pair of ECM's for overheads.You can spend your money more wisely I think.
 
thanks for all of the replies and all of your inputs. i have chosen not to go with this package. even though i was leaning in that direction anyway, i just wanted to make sure i wasnt missing out on a good deal.
