Yeah, Gidge is right on. That's the same setup I use, with the exception of the higher-priced ATM25 instead of the Pro 25. I went through all kinds of budget drum mic packages, CAD, etc., but, forget it, they're all basically junk (broad, sweeping statement, but I stand by it)...
You can pick up used 57's for $50 each if you look around ("Music Go Round," etc.), pair of 603's for $125-ish, I grabbed a used ATM25 for $80 on ebay... I've got maybe $300ish in drum mics, and even though that's double the cost of the CAD or Nady packages - they're worth WAY more than double the price, in quality. I'd say don't fool around with them, just start grabbing up 57's. Who couldn't get by on a few 57's and a decent pair of condensors?
For the record, I use a pair of MXL V63's for room mics, to complete my budget setup. Works out great, considering I'm not really recording in great-sounding rooms to begin with.
