I'm using Sonar 2.2 and I'm tracking a Gospel vocalist who wants that type of sound on one of the tunes.

Any plugin effects available like that?

What outboard gear creates this sound?

RBC audio has an interesting DXi plugin which lets you alter your audio (voice) by playing along with your midi keyboard. Probably the best for your needs...

Anybody got this? I have it, and I have a hard time getting it to work with Sonar 2.

I haven't tried it with Sonar 3. Maybe I should do that...

Oh yeah, now everyone jumps in!

Thanks for the link Pedullist I'll check that one out too.

Spinsta, I saw you reccommended the Orange vocoder on another thread. It's like $150 though! I want a cheaper solution, I found 1 or 2 free ones, and Voice Tweaker looks like a free trial.

I also read somewhere that the little digitech vocal pedal board has a "robot" effect. They seem to be sold everywhere so I'll probably try one out, those can be had for under $200 now, so I think if I'm going to shell out that kind of dough, I may go for hardware, and that thing might have some useful live applications too.

Moskus, I'm still using Sonar 2- I'll post back if I get Voice Tweaker working (unless Pedullist beats me to it).

Thanks again for the replies everyone.

I mighta jumped in if I had any clue who Zapp and Roger were.

Now if you had said the Cher effect. . . :D

Great! The VoiceTweaker is a great plugin if you can get it to work. :)
