Any Peavey Triple X users here?

Just interested in hearing from people that have used this amp. I just demo'ed one and seriously like it compared the Mesa Triple Rectifier. I thought it sounded much better. Tighter, better tone, and just the right breakup in the gain stages.

Need to know which speaker box you are using too.

I haven't used one personally, but to keep this thread going, I have heard from a friend that it is suprisingly awesome for recording metal. Plus hey, at under a grand, its definitely worth checking out.
 
Yes. I did some work for a band over the summer (editing) and the guitar player had a Triple X. It was a VERY good tone for rock guitar. It was a type of tone I am after for certain kinds of hard rock, and the only other amp I have heard that sort of sounded like that is the VHT's. 5150's have the same low end, but the high end is different, and the gain is very different.

I would usually not consider Peavey gear, but this amp is making me take a look at finances. :)

i plugged into one a while back and got nothing but a thin, buzzy sound. i think (hope) it was messed up because there were 3 people in the same room and we all gagged. love my 5150ll for the heavy stuff.
 
Must have been messed up then. I could get extremely dark tones out of that amp with a STRAT!!!
