Whats up everyone :)

I'm wondering if there are any mixing specialists that could mix my recordings to be good. haha.. if there are any and you do it in your spare time then that would be awesome!! :D

What style are you recording and what's your tracking like?
I guess most people would wanna hear what they're working with before committing. Could you post a clip of an unmixed track?

Yeah your right haha, i didn't think about that. I will post one soon. Does people do that? like.. are there people who mix other peoples recordings?

Thanks for the reply :)

If you put up your raw tracks, I'm sure some people will mix it for fun and practice. You might end up getting something you like. But nobody really mixes other people's stuff as something serious....unless you want to pay.

yeah fair enough. You don't really wanna be spending hours mixing peoples recordings for free hahaha

No, but there's nothing wrong with offering up your tracks for mixing. A lot of people ask for that and we've even had mixing competitions here over the years.

But, like S. Maroo said, if you could put up even just a quick mix, you'll save a lot of people a lot of time and filter out the ones that might not like the style, etc....

Ummm...yeah, that's kinda like what I do on a regular basis. I charge for those that wish to pay, but do it because I enjoy it for a few that cant afford. It depends on the artists integrity. >That is something that takes some time to develop....

What's integrity, precious? Can you buys that with these rep points?

Why don't you mix your own stuff? Don't you need the practice?

Personally, I wouldn't want to mix anyone's tracks if they were made by an amateur. If the tracks are not done well they can become a real struggle to mix. Great mixes begin with great sounding raw tracks. Once you have great sounding tracks, they practically mix themselves. It all begins in the studio room. (I don't even like mixing my own if they don't come out good.)

I get where you are coming from with this, but there is still a lot of highly skilled work involved in mixing even great recordings to get a great mix.
It is easy to get a good mix with great recordings, but it is a skill that only some people have to get a great Mix from recordings.

If the tracks are worth mixing, I'll do one free for ya. Post a sample tho. I only do it for guys with tracks with potential. :)

Actually quite good. 22 year old German kid that I am mixing an album for now. He posted in the MP3 Clinic. I saw great potential. Mixed one. He couldn't stand to hear the rest of the album without me remixing it. New friendships and PayPal are a beautiful thing! :D

I've wanted to venture into that territory many times....but I'm so backed up with in my own writing/recording/mixing, I just can't put in the time in right now, though I do get sick of just always working on my own mixes...but like you say, I would only do it for tracks that have potential.
Involved "repairing" of someone else's tracks to make them usable isn't something I would care to get into....I got my hands full with my own shit! :D

I think I will probably venture down that path at some point, though I wouldn't mind also being involved at the tracking stage, at least that way I'm mixing the stuff I tracked...so I couldn't complain. :)
