Ok, here we go again...

First off, thanks to those who were willing to give advice on recording gear. I'm now trying to figure out what mixer to buy and I could use some wisdom if you've got any to spare... I'll be recording to an Otari 5050 MKIII and Cubase VST through a Delta 1010.

I really like the Allen & Heath WZ16 2DX. I want at least 16 channels, and it seems like it would really do the trick for my strictly recording/mixing situation. (no gigging) I also have a line on a Ramsa WR-T820. It's 15 years old, but less $ than the new A&H, and seems to have been more "pro" in its day... Anyone here familiar with that beast?

So far, it's between these two. (I've ruled out Mackie and Behringer.) The A&H will set me back $950, or the Ramsa about $600. I want the best quality I can afford, and I plan on keeping it a while, so any advice would be really helpful. Thanks!

The A&H is indeed a fine choice for your mixing needs! Superior pre's,long-throw faders, more than sufficient head-room and noiseless operation.
Also, if you have the opportunity and/or means, give a once over
at the SoundCraft line of boards. I bought a used Topaz 24/8 last year and it is extremely flexible and and durable and offers most excellent performance for whatever your recording needs are!

BTW, I give you hi marks for ruling out any and ALL Behringer mixers!! You're on the rite path!

Peace
