Just wondering if there are any Canadian based web music stores like 8th street or musicians Friend or Humbucker Music?? I love these places but the duty across the border on expensive items and increased cross-border shipping is a real killer. Thanks ........BJ

I have got some gear from this one. Their web site is a little hard to navigate, but there are prices listed (go to featured products and then go from there).

Any gear that is not made in the US is usually cheaper or comparable to US prices. There Focusrite stuff is especially competitive. Worth a look.

I used savedbytechnology's site as a price chart for when I do local shopping. Their prices seem close to list in most cases.

Another site I check is http://kellysmusic.mb.ca/. I've never bought anything off of them, but they're the only other cdn online store I can find.

Holy Cow !!!
Are they still around ? I bought my first MIDI card from them (at the store just off Yonge street) along with Power Chords Pro, and a desktop rack back in 1992 !!! Ran it all on a top of the line 386/40 machine with a whopping 8 MB RAM and a 110 MB hard drive !!!
Wuz I cool or what ?

 :D

This is one store I didn't know about when I was in Toronto in Autumn 2000.

I visited Steve's music, Long & McQuade and Cosmomusic.

Got some recording stuffs from Cosmomusic (Richmond Hill) as they are the only one willing to negotiate their prices. :)
