Any-1 purchased any Event products lately?

What do you think of them? I am also thinking of puchasing them. Are they worth the $1700 Canadian?

I've read some amazing reviews on them. Check out EM's review in which they basically give it a 5 out of 5.

I've been seriously thinking of getting them , but I just got a bill for $700 on my car and my master shower is leaking....You get the picture. If I ever want to have sex again, my wife says I better pay for the other things first. :)
 
i bought a pair of TR8's last month, second hand, shipped over straight from germany....

heavy motherfuckersn they look nice but i just don't like the Event logo...looks cheap.... i do like the little green led and "TUNED REFERENCE 8" written on it

the sound ? oh, they can go loud, i like that, i can even play drums along with my cds.... and my brother can play guitar on my events while i play drums....
but loud isn't everything... they are SOOOOOOO relaxing to my ears, compared with all the hifi speakers i got at home, and i do got a bunch of nice hifi stuff, these EVents blow em all away
i love falling asleep while listening to those monitors, i just hook up a lill cd player and mhhhhhhh

yeah, they sound good to me, but i don't have professional ears, i'd love to hear some critics from real serious people
 
Got my PS6s. I used them in the living room to get a feel for them. They are loud, and seem very accurate. Can't wait to start mixing on them.

Looks like like I'll be buying some things from Event tomorrow.... new tweeters for the ones that blew again in my Tria's....

Not real happy about it... That's $85 I could blow elsewhere... or save it.... nah.... :rolleyes:
 
FYI...
I just got off the phone w/ Event....

I spoke to Josh (again) who handles pretty much every incoming call and operations, in addition to the website. We spoke for about 15 minutes, and he offered some suggestions to prevent my recurring speaker problem.

The company is about 30 people, and they are really focusing on Monitors thsee days.

He was terriffic to deal with, and makes me want to deal w/ Event for my next set of monitors also.... Great service!!! (Very rare these days!)
 
Wow, am I late to the party or what. Yeah, I picked up the Event ASP8s slightly used off ebay for $800. Seeing as the stores sell them for around $1400 I think I got a deal.
 
Yeah - I ended up buying the ASP8's about 6 months or so ago. You did get a deal. I payed the full $1700 Cdn for them.
 
I still have my Event 20/20 non amplified monitors. I still love em. I know them after mixing so much music on them. Now every buddy is pimping wharfdales. Whatever....
 
I bought a set of Event ASP8's. Paid $1150 new. I can't believe how much detail these monitors reveal. The bottom end is perfect, and goes down deep.
Stereo imaging is the best I've ever heard: hi-fi or studio. No worries about a sweet spot. Beautiful black piano finish on front. Very high-end.
