You are predator, not prey...

You are NOT at the bottom of the food chain in this jungle, my friend.

Very slick, polished, yet delightfully crunchy sound!! The master mix has a nice, saturated sophistication...

Since you want beefs, here are mine, but they are few, and minro at best:

Lead vox are about 1db high in the mix to get that real transparent blend.

There are a couple of minor synchronization issues between the drums, bass, and vox. A couple of times, a couple of smidgen-late entrances. Ain't nobody that's a true rocker gonna bitch. I'm a jazz geek, so I hear 'em more. You're playing everything but the drums on this, right?

So sorry about your hearing, I will need an asylum when that happens.

Crank on, my man!!!

for you are crunchy, and go well with ketchup.

I was being sarcastic about my ear damage being a relief...Man I think the most damage done was at a Judas Preist concert in Reno. You could stick your fingers in your ears and couldn't tell the difference. I couldnt hear out of my left ear for 3 days. We talked to the sound guys after the concert and they said they had the wrong system. It was meant for the LA forum. True story... I like it loud, but that concert was well beyond loud. It would of blown the balls off of a herd of Rhinos......LOL

got it now. thanks.

i like everything very much except the drums. are you saying that was a real drummer? so those were real drums with real mics and stuff? then that's really bad cause they sound like samples, and bad ones at that.

seem like this song could sound a lot with very little effort actually and i think it's necessary in this case cause it's a good song with good tracks except the drums.

Llarion: Yeah I kinda figured the lead vox were a bit loud, i was trying to ride the fader but got a bit carried away. Yes I'm playing everything but the drums. Thanks for the listen man!

Myx62: Ha, sorry...guess deep down i was hoping you were being sarcastic about that statement..just couldn't "hear" what you were saying:D . At that nugent concert i also had both fingers in my ears, but i couldn't tell any difference either. Sorry about that, and Thanks again!

erichenryus: Thanks for checking again. Yeah, real drummer playing an electric kit (alesis D4):( . He is really good, when provided with some decent material to work with:D . He's moved up to Vdrums, but also moved 300miles away from here, so...

May try and re-track with a live kit this wkend, if i get my other adat back in line. Thanks for the folow-up and lending your ears!

finally got it to work...

I really like the chorus' ...especially the vocals.

The drums ARE the weak link...especially the kick off drum roll to the song.. Like the old Oberheim DX.

great tune...reminds me of the old Humble Pie days, for some reason. .. bands that used a couple of SG guitars, Marshall amps,(or showmans), guitar cord....that's it. no friggin stomp boxes...

So do you have the midi still? I assume the D4 spits out midi while he's playing and if you didn't capture it then slap yourself in the head and say 'doh'. You can easily swap those sounds for something better if you have a midi track. It's not the playing that's a problem, just the sounds.

mixmkr: Thanks for the listen. Humble pie eh? Hey i be lovin my old humble pie 8trks till this day:D . Hey thanks..

erichenryus: "Slaps forehead" , yeah it'll spit out midi, but know i/we didn't capture it.

Dough H: I had a song i posted a while back called "Alice", and thought for a second that's what you were talking about. Alice Cooper, huh that's kool:)

Hey David,
GREAT vocs man. ...... and the guitars..... very nice. I like the song alot. Im not gonna bitch about the drums, because Im a drum machine user .....and i feel your pain.:D .....You did the best you could with the drums youve got..... .....and it sounds great to me. Thats an interesting idea Erichen.... had about changing sounds via midi though.
I really dug the vocal delivery... great singing, .....I would have liked a little different effect setting though. That small room ring makes the great vocs sound to metalic and upfront IMVHO. ..... it needs to warm up and lay back just a touch. I liked the song alot. Great stuff man!!!!

Guernica: Thanks for the kind words. I agree with the effect on the vocal's, it was a new effect i was tinkering around with but it does have a metalic ring to it. Thanks for listening!

groove...

...all about groove... there's something Led Zeppelin-y about it... cool as all hell...

Still a creative approach to the songwriting... with the way it slows... and speeds up... excellent musicianship...

One suggestion... POST MORE

Chad

EDIT: (Actually, another suggestion :D Any chance this could be mixed louder? Thx! :D (and no, that's not "mix it to thx" ;)))

I was reading a reply that emeric had made a bit ago, and as much as i wanted for my thread to go to "opposite land":D , I realized I can't leave any stone unturned. I've been left hanging more than once here in this forum even after a 5mb D/L:eek: . Please accept my most humble apologies and thank you for your time and kind words sir...David

hey...shouldnt i be gettin some big fat royalty check for this?!?!?!

jamal:D oh and i like the song too.

Man sorry I got to this so late-Real cool tune-the guitar work and singing are excellent. Love the solo section sounds you had smoke coming off your fretboard. The mix is pretty good too-just missing a bit of sparkle to my (shot) ears. I bet if you ran this through an eq and bumped up around 4k and up it would sparkle nicely. Real nice classic rock. excellent job.
