Cowboy Chord Virtuoso
Howdy.... I'm Brad and just bought a couple of Tascam 424s so I can get one to work... They should be here within a week.
I farmed for a number of years and am used to fixing up old equipment, so I thought the best transition from fixing tractors would be to fix electronics......;)....
We've sold the farm and started traveling the US in a trailer so I figure fixing up on these things will fit in better here...
The main reason I bought it though is because I'm an amateur (......very amateur....) singer songwriter and am looking forward to producing some 4 track demos of my songs.

I am looking forward to talking to y'all early and often on both repair, and recording techniques.

Brad

Welcome to the forum Brad. Once you get your gear together, post your recordings on the Mp3 Clinic. The Songwriting & Composition forum is moribund at the moment, unfortunately.

Welcome. We're here to help when you start digging into any issues with your 424s.

Are they Mk I, II or III?

Thanks RB..... I hadn't looked at the MP3 up till now. I think that will help a bunch!!

All the stuff I've done so far is in GarageBand. I decided to go the analog route because I was a wearer-outer of Radio Shack catalogues when I was younger.... My first stereo was a 1980 Realistic combo bought with graduation money (....that my parents had thought should be spent on other things.....).
Right now, the only thing I'll have is that Portastudio and a delay pedal..... We'll see how that goes.... (....actually I'm looking forward to it......)

They will be the Mk I...... I think it will be interesting, since I haven't done electronics since high school....

.......and thank you for the welcome......
