I just got this thing, and I'm trying to figure it out. I finally got my stands so I could hook the microphones up properly and do some testing of levels and messing around.

So, I'm hooking things up and smacking on my drums here and there and, through trial and error come to realize..only the first channel is actually picking anything up.

I've verified cables, and all the mics I was using (standard drum mics..Nady DM 70's..no phantom power needed). They all work in channel 1, but not in ANY OTHER CHANNEL. All the settings seem to be the same. I checked and rechecked everything I could think of.

It seems to me that I'm just missing a setting or something that is keeping the other channels from picking up, but for the life of me I don't know what it is. The book that comes with this thing is VERY basic, and doesn't do much more than get you started and introduce the user to Cubase. It's not helping.

Has anyone ever encountered this on a Yamaha or other brand? Is it a setting or something I'm missing?

This thing frustrates me, and I haven't even gotten to the hard part! :(

I got it. For whatever reason, it only outputs to channel 1 when the pre-output fader (PFL) button is off (as instructed by the manual).

I knew I was missing something. Thanks for at least reading..
