Another simple question

I've got a pickup for my accoustic. It doesn't work when I plug it into my mixer.

I don't really know what I'm talking about, but I think it's because it's a. unbalanced or b.passive or c.both.

It works when I plug it into my guitar amp, but not when I plug it into a powered pa head.

Is a DI box all I need? Thanks!!

I played a mandolin with my last electric band on several songs and used a piezo pickup into a direct box out to the low impedance input of the PA. I was able to get great results with this setup and the band was a pretty loud with a power drummer at that! Plugging acoustics into a guitar amp always sound bad but with direct into PA I never had any feedback trouble either. I think the direct box will do it for you~Tony
