Hello all!

I'm currently out of commision due to a pretty serious accident. During my downtime, I've decided to start to learn about multitrack recording.

I recently purchased a used Ministudio Porta02 MKII and n-Track software.

No problems recording guitar, bass or vocal track on the Porta02 or getting the tracks onto my PC but, I do have a problem with "syncing" the individual tracks on my PC. When I try to play multiple tracks in n-Track, they're all "out of sync" meaning the guitar, bass and vocals are not coordinated and "in sync" with each other.

Are there any tips or tricks to accomplish this? I've only been at this less than a week but this is a most frustrating situation.

It's not a hardware problem. I'm running a 1.8Ghz Gateway w/512Mb RAM and 40Gb HD space.

Anybody?

TIA

There's a button that allows you to move tracks farther "ahead" of time or "behind" it's at the top in the middle. When you click it your mouse cursor will change to a cross (as opposed to an arrow).

Then simply click and move until there in time. You can also zoom in so that you can see the wav file peaks. I find that lining up the peaks is the fastest way to line up tracks.

you may wanna consider recording straight to N-Track, using the Porta02 as your preamp.......or at least eventually work yourself towards doing that.....

If I understand what you just suggested correctly, I think I just tried that tonight (sort of). I recorded my tracks on tape and in n-Track simultaneously.

Is that what you mean? The mics are still plugged into the Porta and I adjust the levels there but record in both places.

Am I understanding you correctly?

Thanks!
