Another Newbie "Blonde" Question! Double Screen Set Up; Why Only the Transporter?!

No offense to any blondes....

I just set up a two screen/monitor configuration to use my Cubase. I didn't care for seeing all the windows on one screen. I have W7 and can easily use almost everything where I want. However, When in Cubase, I am finding that I can only move my transporter to the right monitor. I can move the entire project to the right too. But, I can't leave the project on the left and, for example, move any effects windows (such as RoomWorks, etc.) to the right monitor. I believe everything's proper in W7. I searched around in Cubase's preferences and elsewhere but didn't find anything.

What am I missing?

You just need to pull the main Cubase screen over to the other monitor. Not the project window, the one behind it. Alternatively, you can click on the individual windows (say mixer for instance) in an open area of the GUI to pull up the 'always on top' menu. Select it, and you can place them on the other monitor. :D

Btw, you don't look blond in your picture! LOL!

OK.... maybe my head's banged against the headboard too many times, but I did just what you said and it didn't work. I can easily move the main Cubase screen over, but the project window always stays with the main window. It doesn't matter if I open the project window before or after moving the main window. Still, the individual effects (or other) windows will only move with the main window; they can't be separated between monitors. So far, the only two windows that I can move independently between monitors is the Cubase main window and the transporter.

What am I doing wrong?

Are you pulling the edge of the main window over to second monitor? If you can stretch the main screen across both monitors, you should be able to move anything anywhere you want except project window can only go within main Cubase window as far as I know. You can move the project window and any other window wherever the main window is. If a window is selected to 'Always On Top', it should go on any screen regardless of the position of main window or project window. If this is not working, then check your monitor settings in Windows. Don't remember/know your OS but you should be able to right click open space on desktop and select screen resolution. Under multiple displays, 'Extend these displays' should be selected. That's all I can think of.

I agree on the main and project windows. They stay together. The transporter moves anywhere. That's it though. Next time you're on Cubase, open up an effect window and see if you can move it away from the main/project windows on to your other screen. That's where I'm hung up.
