I checked it out the other day. The DAV was interesting, kinda crunchy. I have suspitions that the was louder than most, though have not done any tests.

I noticed that they mentioned some of the pres did not have a pad, so if you check out the wav file, the levels are (most) different. Thus making a comparison a little difficult. But it does characterize the tone the pres can achieve. I was pretty impressed with the BG1 among others. The Bg-1 levels were actually about the norm, seemed to have higher RMS levels, an dthe peaks were somewhat compressed(if that is appropriate).
Big ray , I noticed you have plugged the BG1 in many forums, which is cool. Do you consider it a fast pre?
I'm about to push the button on a Pacifica or a API rack.
