Annoying noise

I got a good one. I unplugged everything from my mr-8. Selected a channel and pushed the rec button to see if there was background noise. Yep there was. It is that frying bacon sound. I thought with digital there was supposed to be no noise. When the track and rec button are not selected there is very low noise. But as soon as you push the rec button it gets like 2x as loud. You can create this by turning up the channel and master faders up or turn the headphones level up. Is this just how the machine is cause if so that sucks? Please help me out guys.

You are going to get some noise from the headphone circuitry. Just as a test, download the track and burn a cd to see if the noise still exists. If so, I would say you have a faulty unit.
