Himynameisbuddy's critiques will be pm'd

to their rightful owners once they are posted here. I would rather give him the time for thoughtful reviews than rush him. I'm not trying to hurry him but I thought that many of you, like me, were starting rewrites and could use the info compiled and sent to your mailboxes. I have done so and they should be in your mail now. THANKS AGAIN;););)to all who participated. I hope it was as useful to others as it was to me.

Thanks for all the compliments and all the thoughtful critiques. This has been a very rewarding process for me. As has already been mentioned I learned more from critiquing other people's songs and reading the honest critiques of others than I did from the critiques on my song. I would love to do this again.

I would like to see us take this process a bit further so we can see how other people develop a song. I would love to hear the melodies to these tracks and hear some of the beautiful voices that go along with these beautiful lyrics.

This is a pretty new songwriting method for me. Usually our guitarists write a song and I add lyrics and a melody to that then we tweak a bit to accommodate the lyrics.

The chorus for this song came out of a bridge that I wrote for one of our other songs called "Perfect Demon" unfortunately we just couldn't make it fit, so I filed it away in my notebook for a later date.
When I saw the February challenge I though it would be the perfect time to revisit the Perfect Demon bridge. So this is the first song that I have written the lyrics and melody before any other parts have been written.

I'd like to post the melody up here for everyone but I'm not sure I have the musical vocabulary to express it correctly. SO I am going to do something that I have never before had the balls to do. I have to record A cappella to give my bandmates so they can start writing their parts. I'm going to post it up here. Raw no fx just my voice.

As the song progresses I'll post each new evolution (as long as my bandmates are OK with it) so you can all watch the song develop. If anyone else would like to do the same I think we could all learn something from each other. Not that anyone should feel obligated, I know the songwriting process can be personal and difficult sometimes.

What do you all think? Good idea? Yes, no, maybe so?

I got some great ideas from everybody's critiques and I have already started on some rewrites........... but my lunchbreak is over. More to come......
