Howdy, I have been using a yamaha 4 tack that I found lying around and firgured I'd play with it a little. When I have the tracks ready to be brought over to the computer using Adobe Audition, it sounds like it is being played through an old timey radio when it is on the computer. Any ideas what this might be?

If you're using your standard computer sound card, make sure you are coming through the "line in" jack and not the "mic in" jack.

If the jacks are color-coded they probably follow this scheme:

Green - is for standard computer speakers and/or headphones.

Red or Pink - Microphone input.

Blue - Line/audio input (line in)

no color - output for non-powered rear or auxillary speakers.

If yours are not color coded and/or your sound card is at least a few years old, it's possible that it may not have a line in jack, in which case you'd have to replace your sound card or get an audio interface that came in through an available USB or FireWire port.
