An Older mix.... Please critique

This is old, but I was revisiting some of my older mixes. Fielding opinions. Be really really critical

There are 3 specific things I hate about this mix.

BTW this was mixed in a back bedroom of a house.

hmm this may be a tough game. I thought this was very well done. Too mainstream for me as in a popish song. The vocals, back up vocals, guitar and percusson were all done very well. This mix is definately radio quality. One of the better mixes i've heard.

This is a close to studio-quality as it comes as far as home studio recording goes.

I can't find anything I dislike about the mix itself, although the music ain't my cupotea.

It's that burning perfectionist in me.

Here is what I hate....

The BGV Vocals... In Hindsight I Eq'd them too dark so they dont ride on top the mix enuff. I think I shoulda Used the BBE Plug-in or the Virsonix Vocal Exciter VST Plug-in

The Strings.... Are TOOO Buried. maybe 2 db of increase.... And I can hear them more and still maintain depth of field.

The Bass....... Is Way too muddy. I cant really here the intelligibility of it.....

This song was cut on a VS-1680, Dumped into Digital Performer and mixed soley in the computer.
