So I'm a guy, right, and I said "forget the stupid manual, I'll figure this baby out." And I did.

I did a very good job.

Until I was doing some automation on the end of a long project. I had the "write" button down and I muted a horn track that I didn't want to hear while I was working on the bass.

Stupid me, when I went to read through my automation later, it muted the horn tracks.

Oh, no problem, I'll just go through the few seconds that were muted with the mute button held upwards.

Woops, can't do that in Cubase. I ended up having to copy all the events to a new channel and leave the "muted" channel empty.

Anyone know how to fix this so I can go back to where I was originally? How do I turn off the automated muting?!?

Thanks!

wut??? you just click the mute button again! ...
you can't mute sections like that.. only entire channels is that's what you wanna know..

oh but you can ... I've tried that one too, ended up doin' as Rhino_Rick.
bizz

Yessir, and after my long project it scared me half to death!

Heheheh.

damn that sux.. i don't wanna know how you did it cause i don't want it to happen to me...

at least chriss have now found a way to avoid this.. in options menu, disable "Record Tempo/Mutes"
easy...
Now let's see how we can erase those fukkers...

right... found it..
open the track and go to List view.. you can find your track mutes there.. Just delete them and feel better :)

i think there's also a way you can select which particular events to view... that should make it a bit easier... but since mutes are sysex, i'm not 100% sure...

ok.. you can stop worshipping me now...

Chriss you rule.

But...

The "record tempo/mutes" wasn't on...

The only place it was recording them was in VST when I was mixing down.

Anddddddd...

How do you "open" a track? I'm not quite familliar with the term. I'm looking all over the damn thing but can't find what you're talking' bout.

Thanks!

oh, sorry.. just find the track you want edited and double click it as usual to open up the Edit window.. then go to List view in the Edit menu...
if you know somewhat where the first mute is, then place the Tracker (the thing moving when you play :D.. i call it the Tracker) just before that, then you won't have to look so far down the event list.

I'll have a second look at that record mutes thing...

ok... where in the vst did you mute the track? cause you can't record vst actions simply.. not without some proggie... try removing those Track Mutes in List view first...
