An even bigger holy fucking shit. Davisound as a company really exsists!!!!!!!!

I don't know anything about the company, but they don't seem to understand eBay's policies very well. They have a long paragraph at the top about not being allowed to link to their product description which isn't really true. Also, that auction could be considered a choice auction which is not allowed.

Anyway, I can't believe that anybody would bid on that auction. The page is WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY too long and it's tough to tell what you are actually buying. All the pictures of every console they've ever made don't help.

You gotta' wonder why Hyne Davis has taken his product(s) to E-bay. He went WAY OVERBOARD with his unit description that bordered on straight-up hype!
Who would want to waste their time bidding on a piece of gear where one has to spend an inordinate amount of time just to download Hyne's "sales pitch" for his gear.

But you do what you gotta' do to make that money.

Judging from the wait time some people are experiencing from them, i dont see why they are needing to drum up more business.....clear up the friggin orders you have already......

I guess this is where the DaviSound cheerleaders are gonna come in....news report : I DONT WANNA HEAR IT

I understand these are great preamps and they are handbuilt yadda yadda....just refer to my first paragraph if you dont understand my point......

I am on my 13th week of waiting for my preamp. He said on the Ebay page that the product will be delivered within 8-10 weeks....."well within the Ebay 90 day feedback timelimit."

13 fucking weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He said it WILL ship on June 30th though.

Thank fucking GOD!

Ditto, chessrock. So much for the fucking cheerleaders, Gidge.

I have noticed alot of dealers and dierct to consumer manufacturers sellling items on e-bay for exposure with links to their home page.

It is very cheap advertising on an internation level if you look at it that way....

Avatar (guitar and bass cabinets) sold a bunch of stuff on e-bay this way and they sell direct from their web site.

Cheap advertising pure and simple.

OT, but relevant to the gear...

I understand the beauty of using wood for the gear -- it defintely looks cool --- BUT....

...why bother making the entire casing out of wood? It's very going to be racked and never seen 95% of the time! They could keep costs down if they simply use wood on the front fascia!

Blue,

All I know is that I'm having a pair of Telefunken U373as racked by DaviSound and it was going to cost me signficantly more for a metal enclosure... So I opted for the wood.

who the hell you think you are cursing at, boy?

Speaking of cheerleaders, I hear the Davisound guy likes to look up all the cheerleaders' little skirts and check out their lollies while he's in woodshop class making his mic pres. :D

Wood is easier to work with than metal. To properly cut holes in metal, you should have a special tool that kind of looks like a die, but has a VERY sharp, curved edge to it. You drill a pilot hole, and the two pieces of the tool are screwed together, one on each side of the metal. Makes a NICE cut!

Now, you can cut metal with a drill bit, but the afore mentioned tool gives an extremely true edge.

I don't get it either though, some electronic equipment can get pretty hot. Everyone knows that wood burns.

I think the wood is fantastic looking. Yes, wood burns but it can be treated...plus starting a piece of wood on fire by just getting it hot on one side is very unlikely.

And who knows...audio circuits are very sensitive to outside forces...maybe wood does sound a little better! :) Regardless, it still looks cool.

I think that when ordering a product from someone, you should know a little bit about the company first, thus there would be less stress at times like these.

Who the hell you think you are telling to shut-up, boy?

I just found it "interesting" that you were the third reply in this thread, certainly NOT hesitating to express YOUR opinion on the matter, and then act as though I, or anyone else who believes in DaviSound, don't have a right to say a damn thing...

I DON'T have something to say about it, at least not at this time. Otherwise, I would have, regardless of your "news report"!

Was it not you who said?:

That's pretty much saying "shut-up", before anything has even been said... And I be one of them "cheerleaders"...

i said "I" dont wanna hear it....you can talk until you are blue in the face,son.....

pay attention to what i say, not what I "pretty much say"......If i wanted you to shut up, i would have no problems saying it.......

now get back to cheering......
