Ampex 200

Hello all,

I'm working on a history paper and was wondering if anyone here knew the specifics of how, exactly, Les Paul's modified Ampex 200 worked. Did the additional record head allow for recording parallel tracks, or was one take placed onto the other, with the absence of an erase head.

If you have a good published source for this detailed information, that would be appreciated as well.
