Whats a good amp sim that does require the matching interface. I wanted to use POD 2.0 but you have to have a line 6 interface. Or iLok? can someone explain that to me? Thanks
I guess that's just how they do it. If you have the hardware it's kind of nice because you can install it on as many computers as you want and just have the unit connected when you want to use it. BTW it doesn't have to be an interface, you can use a POD or some of the other hardware they offer.
I've have amplitube and used it on quite a few songs, but the distortion settings really blow compared to micing real amp. If I try to use a distortion setting, I generally have to follow it with a tape simulator and speaker cab enhancer, but even then it sounds pretty generic. The clean tones are solid. My experience with Guitar Rig and Waves GTR is exactly the same. GTR is super cheap right now, so you might give it a try.
Thanks guys for your suggestions. I looked into guitar rig. I like it and the price is amazing.

why not "evaluate" amplitube for free using the "conventional" methods of most "producers".
