Hi,

I've been home recording for a few months, and have been playing guitar for 4 years. I have EurorackMX1604A mixer, Sound Forge, and Acid Pro 3.0. I just know the basic things about them. but i have two questions.

1) If I wanted to plug my amp into my mixer (normally i plug my guitar right into the input), which jack do i put it into? and where from on the amp?

2) what do Aux Returns and Aux Sends do? What does locut do? and what does PFL solo do? (these are all inputs/buttons on my mixer)

thanks a lot.

i dunt no about ur second question but i can answer ur first one.
You use whatever effects u want and plug into the amp, then u get another chord and go from ext. speaker, or speaker , or headphones or whatever it is into the recorder.

from a speaker output? You'll blow up your mixer while striking your first chord because it's powered.

if your amp has a line-out, plug it in a line-in on the mixer. No line-out? a headphones jack on the amp is the next best thing.
If you want to do it properly though, mike it.

Don't do it.You'll be happier with a 57 on the speaker.

why do i get feedback whenever i put a mic anywhere NEAR my amp?

Because you're probably monitoring through speakers via the mixer? Switch to headphones...

Aux Returns and Sends are for creating an FX loop. You can choose how much signal gets sent to the fx unit with the Aux Send knob. You choose how much signal gets returned to the mixer with the Aux Return knob.

Lo-cut is a filter to cut the lower freq. signals. Effective for removing room/stage rumble, useless low freq. from vocal/acoustic/snare/cymbal/etc. tracks.

PFL Solo means Post Fade Listen Solo. When activited, all channels are muted except the solo'd channel.. which will be monitored post fader.

btw.. optimus prime kicks ass! go autobots!

is plugging in directly to the br better?
