Last night I was trying to get rid of the noise that my old CRT makes when I'm recording guitar parts. Not seriously "recording" by any means, just stacking up ideas etc, but the noise from the CRT is pretty annoying.

Yes, I know, I still use a CRT.

I tried moving my guitar away from it, angling myself, moving the preamp, rerouting leads, different leads, even *gasp* lowering the gain, nothing was working.

Then the penny dropped and I realised I can just turn it off while tracking. Behold, no noise, and I actually played better because I was listening instead of looking at a screen.

Amazing. I'm a dick. Pretty embarrassing.

Just throwing it out there in case any of you have the same problem and have been frustrated. Turn it off haha!

we are all hoping that you're saving up for an LCD!!!!

very nice tip. :)
Also, you might want to look into a wireless KB & mouse. I saw a Logitech EX100 for $29, which used the PS/2 only. That's why it was cheaper. I'm getting it in a few weeks.
USB (or USB and PS/2 together) wireless is more expensive, cause it's newer, ad the PC shoppe wanted to dump off the PS/2 only models cheaper.

Oh yeah; LCD is on the list for next pay day (5 days to go!). Soon enough!

You're not alone! I, too, still use a CRT.

Man, I haven't posted here in years....
