You want someone to give you step by step instructions on how to record music from start to finish? You might as well ask how to build a car from scratch or how to genetically engineer a turnip. There are sticky threads in all of the sub-forums here that cover various topics in detail.

Start by reading what has already been written. Then ask specific questions when you come across something you don't understand.

Yes, first read the two threads stickied to the top of this section of the forum, Ultimate Noobie FAQs and Introduction to Computer Recording.
Then read a whole bunch more. Then come back and ask some more exact questions.

There's a plug-in that you put on every track that turns "home recordings" and makes them sound professional....

hahaha nah I'm just playing with ya man, there are way too many "steps" to answer your question.

Just hang out here and chill with us we'll talk shop.

We have to be mind readers sometimes too. First of all you'll need a good room in which to record in, second down load a recording program like Reaper HERE it's free to try out till when ever you feel that it's what you want to use, Third you'll need an A/D convert called an interface (with preamps)

Hook all of that up and your on your way ............... to ask specific questions about recordings and believe me you'll have plenty.

I wouldn't be thanking too quickly........

You people are really great.
You might not be saying that by the time you press "Record".

Please someone give step by step help
This can actually be done ~ but are you ready for this ? This is the deal. You get one snippet {a step} of information. You go away, look into it, do it then come back for step 2. And on we go to step 3 etc, etc, etc. Bear in mind that at each step, you might be raring to go, ready for instructions for the next bit ~ but we have lives to lead, we do this voluntarilly and don't necesarilly log in each day so you might get frustrated waiting a few days for an answer to something you may not understand or the next set of instructions or whatever.
It would be alot quicker and more profitable to read up like Arcadeko and Mjb photos advised.

what they /\/\/\ said....

It's not gonna be a quick couple of tutorials and then you're pro. It's like eating an elephant.... one bite at a time. ;)

(not that I'd wanna eat an elephant :) )

Step by step guide, hmm?

Step 1: turn on computer

Now come back after that is done...

Another noob runs screaming from the building...

Who can blame him with that image in his head!

Lets clear out that image with a photo montage of DB and the Elephant:

And in the end...

That's just not natural...

Recording at home is really a trial and error sort of thing. I meant there questions that can be asked and answered but those come up as you go along.
Step 2: download/install drivers for interface.

Q: What time is it when an elephant sits on DB?
A: Time to buy a new DB.
