Hi Guys,
I have recently bought an Allen & Heath Zed 12FX mixer along with Cakewalk Sonar LE. I bought the ZEd 12FX as an upgrade from my Alesis 8 USB. The Zed is a fantastic mixer, my drums sound incredible recorded though this mixer and it's awesome live but there is one problem I cannot get my head around that I hope someone will be able to help with. When I have recorded a track or if I am recording an audio track after a midi track the sound from my previously recorded track is recorded on to the new track along with the new audio from my mics. On my Alesis mixer I had a "2 Track To Mix" button and a "2 Track To Control Room" button. When the "2 Track to Mix Button" was in the off position I could hear my previously recorded audio to play along to but it was not recorded on the new track, just the new audio was recorded as it should be. There is no such button on the Zed 12FX and I cannot figure out how to record a track whilst listening to the previously recorded tracks whithout them being recorded again on the new track. I have managed to do it by sending the new audio signal through USB via AUX 1 but this cuts out all the EQ and effects on the mixer giving a flat recording. The user manual is of no use in this case can anyone help? I would be very grateful if someone can. Many thanks in advance.
