I am an extremely cheap budget home studio recorder. My microphones consist of a couple Nady SP1's and Nady SP9's i think they do a great job for their price. I was wondering if anyone else out there have used these and what they thought.

For around $10, you get what you pay for. My dad bought a couple of these a while ago and i have not done an A/B with them against a SM58 or 57. But for most people its better than nothing, and it probably better than a karaoke mike.

Darnold

These mic's maybe 10-20 bucks but they don't distort and sound pretty clear to me, this maybe because the only other mic's i've worked with are sm58's and few audio technicas.

These mics are usefull arround the studio. Expecially for those who want you to loan them a mic and you dont want to give them a good mic.

Other than that I own a Karaoke Buisness and I wouldnt touch those mics for anything. Us Karaoke dudes have standards.

I've used them and they are better than you would expect for $10 but that really isn't saying much. They can get you tracking for very little money but I'm sure that as soon as you can buy better you will.I had a bunch and I ended up giving them to the cheap F**ks that I jam with as they are better than the Radio Shack pieces of shit that these guys were using.

BTW,I played a benefit last weekend at a biker bar and the guy putting it on wanted to borrow some mics so we let him use the Starpowers and they didn't sound half bad.The thing is that they are so cheap that if they get dropped, broken or stolen they are so cheap it really ain't no big deal.

i cant find anything that my SP1 sounds good on(compared to a 57 or any of my other mics) i use mine's as a talkback mic. I will say its better than any $10 radio gack mic.
