Hi

I´m thinking about selling my Alesis-Studio24, and getting a Mackie 1624-VZL. Mainly because the Mackie seems to have better mic-pres. Will i notice any diffrence between them??

Thanks

Not only are the pre's better than the 24, you will no longer have to deal with the 24's tiny-as-hell buttons located on each channel
strip that are so small you can't tell whether their depressed or not!

You might also wanna check out www.jam.se
They have special offers on Allen&Heath mixers.

Välkommen in i smeten :)

That site also has Soundcraft Spirit boards....very nice.....

I dont know how many pres you need..I'm guessing you are mixing 8 tracks..You could also see about looking into something like a 1202 I belive it has 4 preamps..So if you are looking for better pres it is a cheaper way..Keep the 24 use it to mix/monitor, 1202 track thru it for the pres...Could save you some cash........Good luck

I basically do all the mixing in the computer. So, all i really need are the pre´s. The Mackie 1202 doesn´t have direct out, which i need. If i had the money, i´d get those expensive single-unit micpres.

Oh.. Ok..I understand now!Ya I also have a 24 I use it for headphone mixing ..Mackies probobly better..If you shop around you might be able to find better stand alone pres for the price of the Mackie..But it all depends on how many things you gotta track at once though...Good luck
