Alesis MKII active studio monitors???
Hi, I'm pretty new to recording, and am trying to setup my first home studio. I've already pretty much decided which multi-track digital recorder I'm going to use, but not sure what kind of monitors to get. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but I would like to get the best pair I can find for 300-400 bucks a pair. I'll have a lot of money to spend in about a year, and will upgrade then, but for now this is about all I can afford to do. I did a little bit of research and these speakers apparently have sold a ton in comparison to those in similar price ranges. Any luck with these or other suggestions for a different brand???

In that price range I don't think you'll find that much difference between Alesis and the others, to me it's a matter of choice.

I have the M-Audio BX8 [old version] and I like them, basically what you need to do it's buy what you can afford and learn to used them by listening to your favorite music thru them.
