Alesis m1active 320 trouble

I recently bought a pair of these monitors but had to send them back because only one speaker was working. I just got a new pair and i'm still having the same problem. Now I'm thinking that maybe I'm doing something wrong. Maybe driver...something. Has any1 had this problem with these monitors, or does any1 have any suggestions?

first to check the other speaker... put it where the one worked... if the "bad" one n ow works... then it's hook up issue... make sense??? then describe your set up... are you coming out of a soundcard?? a firewire interface??? got the correct cables???

the speakers r just connected via usb to the cpu.
