Hi guys,
I am thinking about buying the Alesis IO2 Express. My goal is to record some of the songs I learn on guitar, and save them online or on my MP3-player. I'm not looking for studio quality, I just want to have clean sound without any hum or noise. I want to be able to hear myself play, because I mostly play over backing tracks, so I really don't want to have any delay in the device.
I've watched some videos online from people that have recorded their guitarplaying with the Alesis IO2 Express, and it sounds good to me. Now I was still wondering what else I would need. I've already seen that the headphone input is a 1/4 inch while I only have small headphone jacks, so I would definitely need a converter.
Another thing I wanted to ask, is because I would plug my guitar right into the Alesis, I wouldn't be able to use my amp in between somewhere, so does the Cubase LE5 software contain amp models that you can choose?
My amp, a Vox VT20+, also has a direct line out (that can also be used with headphones), so maybe I can still use my amp, and go from the line out of my amp directly to the Alesis, and then record it, so the sound is all set and done when it's received by my computer?
And what do you guys generally think of the Alesis IO2 Express? Is the overall quality ok, and isn't there a lot of delay when listening from the device through headphones?
