Alesis hd24 Fireport 1394

hi, i've just baught the alesis hd24 fireport 1394 wanting to use it with my alesis hd 24 track recorder, i use a powermac with the 10.4.5 operating system but there is no upgrade driver for it, the last driver on the alesis site is 10.3 ?, what can i do, alesis is sleeping on the job, countrygerry

If you're sure it's a problem with the driver then I guess you can only complain to Alesis (or revert your OS to an earlier version )

Just I was desperately trying to get my first fireport to work by re-installing the supplied software and drivers, re-installing my firewire drivers, getting the latest patches for my OS until I realised the supplied firewire cable was dead! Switched it for an old cable I had lying around and bingo, everything worked

I then had to return the fireport because the power supply went bang, and again with my second unit I had a dead firewire cable but this time it only took me a few seconds to fix

hi, thanks for that, i have a number of drives in there, i could use an old os as you say and that drive only for the music, countrygerry

I had that exact same problem. Im running osx 10.4 and went looking for an update as well, after trying for hours i swapped the firewire cable and it was good to go!
