hi!! i've been reading the alesis firewire 16 series and i just wonder if it really came out already, cause the threads ended with no reviews... please anyone with experiences reply this thread i wanna know how are the features especially the preamps, the effects, and interface ( mixer to PCor MAC), and if the preice is raising up... thanx

I believe the release date has been pushed back till the end of the month. At least it has on zzounds and MF. And yes I believe the price will go up once there are actually boards on the shelf and production is in full swing. I ve had one on order for about a month now, And dont expect to see mine untill oct.3 or later. Everything there is to read on the subject suggests it will be a quality piece of gear. Everything Ive owned alesis,( wich isnt much) was quality gear and im hoping this will be no different. I keep checking my e-mail hoping they shipped the board but I know its wishfull thinking.

Hello, first off - new user here. Hey everyone. :)

Anyway, like stinkfish, I have recently read up about the new MultiMix 16 Firewire, and like most people here, are quite excited about it.

I currently own a MOTU 828 MK2. My setup right now is feeding the direct outs from a Behringer 2442 mixer into the 10 inputs of the MOTU.

If the MultiMix16FW is what I _hope_ it is - buying one of these, I can replace my whole setup into one portable unit. From what I've read so far, it is just like the 828 in the sense that it provides my recordingg software (currently Sonar 3) 16 different inputs.

Definitely beats the 10 inputs I currently have with my MOTU 828 MK2!

To my disappointment, this product is apparently not out yet. And from what I've been reading through these forums, prices are all mixed up. And someone even mentioned that they may have not even started mass producing these yet!

I live in Malaysia, and after seeing several sites that are apparently selling these for USD$ 599 (which isn't bad at all, IMO), I was already very tempted to order a unit online. I was willing to pay the shipment and everything! It's like those love at first sight things, heh...

I was searching high and low for reviews but couldn't find any. I quickly discovered that the thing isn't even out yet. :/

Anyway, I will be watching these forums to see wether it's a good buy or not. My primary concerns now are A) latency issues B) pre amp quality.

/me keeps fingers crossed.

It kind of sounds too good to be true, but I really hope that's not the case! I just hope they don't bump the price immensely once it's actually out...

i'll have to admit, this approach/technology has my interest...just makes sense to have a unit that you can use as your live mixer and for the recording side as well...i will be interested to hear how well they perform...
