Hi! My first post here :)

I recently purchased an Alesis Control Pad and want to get a stereo footswitch to help me shift between patches quickly - does anyone know a particular brand of device I can buy?

I thought pretty much any dual footswitch would do it so I stupidly bought a Marshall 'channel-switcher' type pedal but while it mostly seems to work it appears to have a habit of cycling through the patches at random after one makes a few changes!

I think you need a footswitch with momentary contacts. Boss makes a dual switch that can be setup for momentary or latching switching

The Marshal switch you have is a latching switch so when you switch it, the signal stays on or off and causes the patches to scroll

If you like DIY stuff you can always try using two single momentary foot switches like this one:

Then just get a stereo splitter like this:

You could always mount the switches to a board. They would be a much bigger target then most of the off the shelve switch boards. Just a thought.

ah yeah, should have thought of that!

oh well, bought something off ebay now ;)
