There are a lot of threads like this curently running here - pick any of them.

And no, I'm not "leaving HR", just gonna post here less often, answer questions where I can, and stop getting involved with this petty shit. I'm gonna more spend time at my forum, where this shit doesn't seem to happen.
Hey Harvey, I have to agree with you. Your time is too valuable to wade through all this to see if there's a question in here somewhere we're all flailing with where you can make your usual practical, on the money contributon.

Just want you to know that I (and probably many others here) have learned more from your posts than from all the rest combined. You and the big thread when it was active were the reason that I kept coming back here. Things were a lot more friendly, helpful, and kind spirited in those days.

This was the first internet forum I participated in, and I thought that the freewheeling, let it all hang out, sometimes downright rude way that people interacted here was just the nature of the beast. I unfortunately got out of hand myself at times. Since then I have frequented many others, such as yours, George Massenburg's, Klaus Heyne's, The Lab nee Tech Talk, and have found that in more tightly moderated fora where people treat each other with respect, a lot more learning goes on.

Anyway, keep coming back here when you can, if only for the entertainment value. :)

Hey Crazydoc... I see your on line right now, and so am I... I don't have anything more to say about this dumb ass thread of yours... but if you'd like to throw some rocks back and forth for the hell of it, so you have something post on the mic forum today... I have a few extra minutes before I got to go start loading the truck. :D I'll give you a minute or two to reply... then I've got to go and you'll have to find someone else to play with. :)

EDIT: Times up... I've gotta go, have fun.... bye. :)

How many times are you going to keep saying you don't have anything to say? I think you've said that about 5 times.

That being said, my contributions to this particular Algonquin Roundtable is done.

I sure hope you’re not wearing polyester pants. I’ve heard it can be really painful when they start to melt.

Humm, well that's an uneven number... do you like uneven or even numbers better? :D

See, this thread is more fun now that's it's about nothing... say, wasn't the Jerry Stinfeild Show (or however you spell it) about nothing too... lol.

Ok, that sounds like fun... I'll be back again later. :)

Chris,

You're in my prayers, bro.
May His peace that passes all understanding be real to you during this.

Bowisc

Thanks Bowisc.

BTW am also thankful to count Alan as a friend. Whatever anyone here thinks of Alan's colorful :) personality, he's the kind of person you can count on to be sincerely helpful. Plus let's remember that the Internet is quite two dimensional as far as representing ourselves.

Chris,

Actually, for the first time I would disagree with you. In every word you can actually see "who-is-who". I had chance to meet some members of different boards in person, or talk over the phone. Every time I was amazed how their personalities were close to my impressions I got from reading their posts.
But of course, these impressions are only my opinion.

Hopefully it doesn't start the new round, though.

I was once trying to explain to one of my professors in art school why my painting was good in purely conceptual terms. He said to me "How many times can you look at that damn Duchamp urinal? " He was right.

I agree Marik that there will will be tendency for our character perceptions of others to correlate with their Internet postings.

IMHO these perceptions and actual reality can differ greatly though.

One of my favorite books, "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens,
is based on this perceptual schism BTW.

Chess -

I'm very sorry to learn of your loss. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Chamay...or maybe Ommagang as far a belgiums go, but I'm pretty fond of Brooklyn's Lager and Dogfish Head's Chicory Stout. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is always a good choice too. I think Rougue takes the cake though for best all-around brewery. Sorry....I could go on about beer for a while.

Beer is gross. . . .I enjoy a nice Mike's Hard Lemonade, or possibly a Pina Colada.
