I've been reading alot of stuff concerning the B series mics. How are you comparing them with the C series. Are they a better mic than the C series or just a different applications mic?

I notice you have similar mics in both C and B series can you give a us run down.

I was thinking of getting another C1 but if recording acoustic guitar should I go with a pair of some of the B series being as the C1 is better for vocals? If so which B series would you recomend for acoustic?

Thanks

Gidge

I guess from your post that you are acussing me and Jimmy T of bating this BBS with questions set up for Alan Hyatt responses.

As far as any connection to Alan Hyatt the only connection is that I purchased a C1 and have been very pleased with the product. I'm also interested in the new B series. I know from reading all your posts that you are Marshall Dependent and that's Ok to each his own! This thread is not directed at you so get lost OK.

I take offense to you reply as to Jimmy Ts 12 posts and my 32 posts/ What are you trying to say? # of post don't mean squat! All it means is that I haven't posted much on this BBS. I have legitamate concerns about the quality of gear and its performance. We are all trying to get the best results within a home studio budget.

Go record with your Marshalls! Be happy! That's cool. Frankly you have turned me off of Marshall from your posts. No offense Marshall!

fortunately, this is a public forum and i am free to participate in it....if you ONLY wanted Alans views on the subject, im sure you can reach him at his email......

if myposts on Marshall have turned you off from them, then id think Alans post on the C1 shoulda made you puke by now......Marshall Dependent?.....check my posts where i recommend the C1 almost as much as the v67 as a great budget mic....ever saw Alan recommend a v67?......

i was even nice enuff to supply a link where your question was answered already.....so you are welcome.....

peace brutha......

Im so inspired by JimmyT with 12 posts and DOg with 32 posts asking such in depth questions about the B serious DIRECTLY to Alan Hyatt here right at about the time they are coming out...thats very convenient...almost like a commercial.....

Gidge, you are getting out of control. I think it is time you let it go. I am not selling commercials, nor have I been. The funny stuff is cool, but these guys don't need to be bashed. If you have fun bashing me, that's fine, but they have done nothing wrong.

Dog,

Sorry you got hammered by Gidge, but this is the reality of newsgroups.

I did answer this in another thread at:

http://www.homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42623

So rather than clutter this space up, go there and read the entire thread. If you have any specific questions, do not hesitate to ask me.

Alan, that was not bashing or hammering.....

and i dont bash you either, but you cant see that.....i bash your actions of imparting your opinions when it comes to microphones, because you have a vested monetary interest....if you wanna answer any specific questions made, i think they should be answer by email outside of this BBS......

As for myself(and I don't even own a Studio Projects-yet)I think that Alan contributes a great deal and I like hearing his perspective,he knows a great deal more than I about mics.I don't think he is overly biased(I mean c'mon, you gotta think your own baby is the cutest)and if he is sometime you just gotta keep that fact in mind.

That said,I'll really be your buddy if ya give me a mic Alan!!Puhleaze?? :D :D :D

Yeah, I'll second that. I enjoy Alans posts too. They are always first and foremost informative, and secondly, if there's any bias in his posts, it's only cursory.

He was asking Alan a question and Gidge butted in.

Gidge I respect your opinons but you have to stop bashing Alan on every single post.

The v67 isn't all that much greater of a deal than the C1. But with the C1 you get great support from Alan on this forum. When was the last time you seen somebody from Marshall Electronics on here or any other forum?

Ofcourse in answering quesitons about his mic's he is going to promote them but its not SPAM. He only post when asked to by the users of this forum.

Often he gives his opinion on other mics and he was part of the design team for the C1 so the C1 is his opinion of what a mic should sound like.

Chuckles....

I don't get it Gidge? There was no mention of Studio Projects Mics in that (linked) post, no spam, no bias, nothing like that. Granted, he may not have been asked to comment, but so what? From what I read, all I saw was a member of this board offering information he found on a GT mic. Isn't the very spirit of this board to exchange information?
I did however notice, the very next post where you jumped right in the middle of his shit for replying. Now THAT was completly uncalled for. Not only that, but you had absolutely nothing constructive to add to the thread's topic. Your sole purpose of replying was to give Alan a ration of crap.
Now come on, play nice with the other kids.

I have to put in my 2 cents worth here. Like I have said in the past...i bought a C-1 and im glad alan monitors the mic forum and answers questions. It would have saved me 80 bucks if I had of asked alan about the damn nady mic I bought a while back (my 1st large condenser mic) and he would have told me that the nady was a useless peice of crap and his studio projects line was better (like night and day). People that ask these questions are in the market for a mic...and like me many of them don't know that much about mics. they are wanting someone to tell them what to buy....alan sells mics....and his mics back up what he says. If thats spam, so what....someone can either read alans posts and get it from the horses mouth....or depend on biased reviews and magizine ads (since none of the other manufaturers give one iotta of a damn about this web site). what gets my goat is everytime alan answers a question about his mics and says they are a good value.....the same people (everytime) turn the whole thread into an argument about spaming and try to discredit alans posts. that is unfair to alan and to the one that is asking about studio projects mics. stop it!
my 2 cents

Gidge,
I'll back you up when you say that you have been supportive of the C1, etc., and sure you will advocate the Marshalls if you are happy with yours, BUT for Christ's sake get off Alan's case........you said yourself, it is up to Dragon to draw the line.......not us. So please stop appearing as though you are the "moral" conscience of HR.com. Or haven't you got anything better to do?

no i dont have anything better to do.....

besides it is really getting damn aggravating seeing his posts on mics, as aggravating as mine are to you.....

Look Gidge, it's no fun for me being harrassed by you everytime I make a post. I am sure you have some major lable wanting you to engineer a new album by an up and coming artist, so you probably have no time for this either.

If you want me out of here so bad, get enough people to agree with you and I'm out. Or, if more people want to see you gone, then you're gone, or stop the madness. :)

why would i want you out of here?.....

ALL ive ever said remotely bad about you is that it is a conflict of interest for you to make some comments in these forums.....

Ha, it's like 2 children fighting. Just ignore the freakin' posts if you don't like em. You're not obliged to read them......

Mike
