Hi all,
I'm sorry if this question will sound dumb to many of you. Also, sorry, if similar questions have been asked before in this forum. Unfortunately, using the forum search I found nothing that helped me...
I'm currently looking for a mic to do some home recording (mostly voice, but I would also like to record some "nature sounds"... you know, raindrops, birds singing and the like).
By chance, I recently stumbled over a AKG D790 in a local second hand shop. To my amateurish eye, it looks like a full-blown microphone - however, it costs just about 9,- and the sticker says it's a microphone "body". When I asked the guy he briefly told me they don't sell the "capsule"... apart from this answer, he was less than helpful.
Can anybody in this forum enlighten me? If I buy this "body", what else will I need to buy to be able to use it properly? And would that microphone be okay for my needs (see above)?
