Has anyone ever used these mics before?
I have 2 of them and am wondering if they would be any good for recording guitars.
At the moment im using an AKG Mk II and a Shure Beta52a to record my guitars. Im thinking of swapping over the AKG Mk II for the AKG D19 0E.

What do yous think?

Cheers,
Eck

I think...

You oughta try it and tell us, since you have the mics. In any case, you will be able to tell if they work better than what you are using now. :)

Beatles mics

Hi,

AKG was to Europe what Shure was to the states. The D190E was their affordable vocals mic so there were a lot of them. Still good for live vocals.

SM57s are vocal mics that work great on guitar cabinets. I've used my D190s on cabinets during live shows. I imagine they would work good to record too.

Thanks,

Hairy Larry

Yeah Im gonna test it out tonight in our studio.

Cheers all.

Are you talking about the D19 or D190E? I have a pair of D19 mikes. I use them on vocals and like them. They are good on toms and other similar drums, too. Sometimes they are a good choice for guitar cabs, too.

Cheers,

Otto
