just got 2 of these off ebay for £28 altogether. They're coming in a couple of days, what are like? i.e. what mics could they be compared to, ideal recording objects?

sm 57,s is about what I would compare them to. They are not bad mics but then not fantastic mics. You didnt get hurt on the price for two of them.

how much, about, are they meant to be? i mean new, these werent new but they are in apparently good condition.

The D190 is not one of AKG's most stellar cheap dynamics. I prefer lots of others, especially D320, D770, and D690. In the studio, a D190 is a talkback mic at best. What the hell? Try them on toms, they're kind of dark as AKG dynamics go. They are basically $25 mics.-Richie
