i read the manual about punch-in and theres no indication that it works for my purpose.

so i set up the thing for punch-in and monkeyed with it for a min

first the switch pushes the play button and the thing starts playing and then if you do the switch again the record light comes on.

you have to do the footswitch twice but what the hey it works!!!
