Agfa PEM 369 problems known to exist / deposit on my deck

Hi,

I got a few of these in their nice boxes. I thought I made an interesting deal as they allowed 90 minutes on my PR99.
However, they slowed down the rewind and deposited on the heads and guides (not much, but enough to remove by hand).
They appear to work better after a first pass and deposit less.
Can they be considered as usable or will they become sticky or deposit more in the future ?
Just in case as I would not keep them if they are not worth it.

I don't think anyone has replied because we are likely not too familiar with this tape (I think it was used mostly in Europe) ... I think 369 is a less expensive variant of 469, but I'm not sure. If that is the case, it is likely bad tape and should not be used. If you need to transfer content from the reels, it may be a candidate for baking.

It is a 469 variant, in the sense that it's 36 microns insteaf of 46, with same oxide #9.
I'll throw them away and keep the foxes for storage. I have lots of tapes so can definitely eat the loss.

ok, yes ... 469 is one of the worst on the 'bad tape' list ! AVOID !

468 is usually quite good though. Although lately I have found that 468 begins to exhibit audio wear characteristics with multiple passes (I probably do more passes than I should though ... like hundreds of passes). In any case, Quantegy 456 can take a lot more passes than 468 (both AGFA and BASF-labeled) without audible problems in my experience.
 
That's one tape I haven't used. Well, there are quite a few AGFA tapes I haven't used. PEM 369 was a short-lived tape... late 80's to early 90's. 469 is the only AGFA tape I know for sure has sticky shed. It's possible 369 uses a similar binder. Some tapes will get a bit dusty with time and after the surface oxide comes off with the first couple passes it's ok. Need to keep things really clean though.
