Hello :)
For my youtube vlog's etc I am getting a Blue Yeti (not pro) for no other reason then a lot of other youtubers recommend it and I'm quite inexperienced with sound equipment.
Anyways, I have been trying for a while now to find out what other gear I should buy to supplement the yeti, and I feel very insecure about what fits what.
I am hoping by posting here that someone with more experience and knowledge can lend me a hand :)

I definitely need a pop filter, which aint to difficult to find, although recommendations never hurt.
What I'm primarily struggling with though is the arm/stand.
I need one that does not stand on the floor, due to lack of space and the fact I'll be looking at my monitor whilst recording.
Please see attached picture for my desk-space.

So I have been looking at some table standing ones, but to me it looks like they wont be able to hold the weight of the yeti (unless you can detach the yeti from it's own stand?, but if so will it still fit the arm).
Some are stands, while some are standing on the table with an arm, but the arm seems short and again it's the weight thing, so I lean towards the table mounted ones.
I sit kinda leaned back, so I need to be able to have it close enough, but without it taking up all the space between my webcam and my face :)

Also, and I don't know if this is necessary, a shock mount may be a future upgrade, but I don't think my budget alowes for it just yet.
would be good though if the arm supports one when the time comes.

Thanks in advance for any help!
I will most likely be buying this off of amazone UK, as I live in Denmark and there is not really a big selection here.

I'm pretty sure desktop stands are able to hold the weight of the yeti. Check the attachment out. It certainly does prove that the stand can be removed from the blue yeti. I suggest you invest in a shock mount if you have the extra cash, and also buy either a desktop stand or a normal stand, depending PURELY on your preferences.

Cheers,
Darren

Thanks man, do you happen to know the name of the one in the picture?

edit:

Looks like thats a floor tripod actually don't it?

You mean the microphone stand in the picture? Nope, but you can try This and This.

edit:
Yes, it is

P.S: You can just put the Blue Yeti at a side and turn up the sensitivity aka gain and let it pick up your voice instead of keeping it on a custom stand.

Ah thanks again Darren :)
well, I spose I could do without the stand, the problem again is just that I sit pretty far back in that chair when I do my recordings, so I fear it would be too far away to pick up my voice and not also everything else that goes on.
Also, the stands you linked me are table ones. No space for that :)
I guess I'm down to either something like this:
CONRAD-Studio-Microphone-control-arm
or this:
Tiger-Level-Stand-Round-Base
(those are amazone product names, I cant post links on this forum yet.)

Got a little weary of the bending ones after reading some comments, seems they tend to loosen after a few months of use.

Check this video out. I hope you understand what I meant by the fact that you don't really need a stand. Why don't you try out the microphone with its default stand before buying one online? Its always better to try with what you have first before getting an addon

Cheers,
Darren
