Sonic opinions aside, is it possible to add more meters to a M3500? The boards I'm able to find for sale these days have a few LED meters and two VU meters mounted on the board's right hand side. Looking at the board, it looks like the 8 LED meters can show the 8 group outs, or tape returns, in groups of 8 channels.

Through some research I've discovered that boards sold outside of the US had LED meters on all channels. To me, that suggests the board has a place for those meters to be wired on. I can't find a manual or schematics for the M3500 so I can't be sure...

I have a number of VU meters kicking around from an old radio station console I took apart. Would it be possible for me to wire some of them onto the M3500 and get accurate metering? I assume it would take some soldering...

My M3700 has full metering, I would imaging that if you got hold of a full meter bridge from a M3500 or a M3700 with the wiring loom there would be a place to just plug it in. Why the US models did not get the meter bridge is a mystery.

Another bit of trivia, the US models had RCA plugs for tape ins and out where the rest of the world had 6.5 jack plugs.

Cheers

Alan.
