adat sync problems

Having problems syncing two adats.

I have a blackface and an xt-20. I have set it up with the 9 pin out of the blackface to 9 pin in of the xt. My problem is, on playback, the xts time is jumping all over. It will stay within 10 seconds of the blackface, but it changes like 4 times every second. I also cant get anything to record onto the xt. I am using the blackface as the master, and a blackface lrc. Could this be the problem?
 
You can rule out the cable, I know it's not that. :) Try hooking up the xt as the master into the blackface as the slave without the lrc, see if that works.
 
very very interesing. can I still use the blackface lrc to control the xt?

blackface LRC with XT

Yes, the blackface LRC will work with the XT.
 
You connect the LRC to the master unit and control both from there.... when slaving multiple ADATs, everything is done at the master machine (except track arming on the slaves)...
