Adat Newbie the use of inserts to send to the adat

Newbie my first post i got a used adat recorder cheep i want to use the low imp input on my mixer then use of inserts to send to the adat to record raw
then back from the adat into the insert with EQ then to control room out to monitor the tracks is this a stupid method or as it been done before...
its the onley way i could record multi track because my mixer as the usual main out & 1 sub out ita a europack UB1622fx-pro that i use for vocals in practice room and live for small gigs ...

Hey Karlo - welcome to the boards!
The quick answer is YES - that setup will work fine. That was the setup I used when I first got my ADAT.

Ok great i'm going to order a few Y patch cables or y snake.. i was asking in my surrounding ... this i was getting, it cant be done theres going to be feedback, & all sorts of problems... i'm an electrician by day & by looking at the schematics i could not understand that it counld be done.. I'm glad i joined the club, there are alot of good topics that i'm going to catch up with. being a musician as a hoby for 30 some years i never tought of the recording
side , i missed alot of good stuff ......
