Sonusman,

I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one. I bought the card before I started coming to this forum. Learned a valuable lesson: never ever trust a manufacturers claims. I couldn't return mine either. I had a big long argument with a guy at Musician's Friend about opened software/hardware. I didn't even receive any software with my card and they still wouldn't let me return it because I could have gotten drivers off the card. Like the drivers would do me any good without the card. The whole experience turned me off of Alesis and Musician's Friend forever.

For those of you who got the ADAT PCI card to work: if you need another one, let me know. I'll part with mine for real cheap.

I got it to work on my brothers celeron 466 but no go with my 1 gig athlon.

I think your computer hardware configuration is the key and the age of it, more than likely, alesis tested with intel only, everyone i know that has amd or via the chipset gets a bumrush.

Now with sophisticated buss stepping and ACPI the old adat/edit card/driver is a bit out of its depth...good riddance!

I have heard from many people that getting the MOTUs to work was a bit of a nightmare.

I've been using a 2408 mkII with ADATs and a PC for years (and for the last year, an HD24) with zero problems. It was the most painless soundcard I've ever installed.
