Skip the amp. Just mic it with the 58 at around 2 feet away. Go in to the PA if you don't have a preamp on the computer (I don't have computer software).

Guernica, Thanks for the compliment, When I get back to being able to play,I will hopefully be able to do this up right.
Outlaws, Im definitely going to mic it with the roland mmp-2 mic modeler and 2 mics, Ive got the best result out of that so far,I appreciate your ears.

Nice playin Bill,
Didn't have time to read the other responses, so if I repeat anyone, you know why.
Just trying out my new nearfields, and you're right. The tone does get a bit boomy at times, and the highs ring a bit...I'd say just boost the midrange, or maybe that and cut the bass a bit and you'll have it. The highs are not as bad as you think.

Hey Bill,sorry to hear about your back man,I know how it is.
I'm in pain with mine 24/7.
To top it off,I smashed two of my fingers on my playing hand in the truck door today!
Oh well,time to break out the slide!
Hope we don't have to wait till summer to hear more from you.

Pete, 24/7, Yup thats the one. Ive been having back problems since 95 and they seem to be taking longer to heal with each flareup. Gettin old sucks! So far the only things Ive posted are works in progress or test samples. My playing has really suffered from the lack of practice with this so Im gettin pretty darn frustrated
. Im not one of those with natural talent and it has always required lots of work to progress at all. I hope your fingers heal completely and quickly. thanks for the reply and encouragement.

Funny how the opinion at the beginning of the thread still continues even with the repost, I dont think it sounds like an electric anymore ,but what do I know?. I do think your right about adding some mids to it. I always appreciate feedback on tone correction as my hearing is yet another weak point. Should have learned piano I guess
