My brother plays acoustic guitar and is looking into using a Trance Audio "Transducer Lens" pick-up for the high-end, and a Sunrise "Soundhole" pick-up for the low-end; the two seperate signals would come out of a stereo end pin from the guitar and go into a dual mono preamp for seperate equalization. I got to thinking that with the uprise of mic preamps adding on guitar/bass inputs, I was wondering if using a mic pre could be another worthy option to go.

If so, can anyone think of some in the $300-$600 U.S. range with instrument inputs as well? If not, how about some recommendation for acoustic guitar pres? By the way, we already own a Fishman Pro-Eq. We love it in conjunction with an under the bridge saddle pick-up, but not what we're looking for reguarding this application (which is also live by the way). Also, we're not looking for internal pres either.

Never mind to this post. I found out the Trance Audio "Transducer Lens" puts out up to 10x less output and a very high impedence as compared to say a "Piezo" type saddle-mount or contact transducer.
